Giddyup Cowboy & Cowgirl....

In 1980 my brother and I had a random guy walk up to our house with a pony and my mom paid for us to take a picture with a pony... Tommy prob remembers more details than I do but the photo is priceless... So Andrew and I were driving along the other day and noticed a big white tent set ip in a parking lot by our house... we realized soon enough that it was PONY PICTURES!!!!!!!!!!!!! I freaked out and Andrew did too. He was almost as excited as me! First, we had Noah go on and he rocked it! Loved the guitar the most... loved being on the pony too. Then it was Sophias turn ... She did NOT want to get on the pony but she did (with mommy a reach away for support!) She liked being on the pony but got over it pretty quick. :)

Can they get any cuter? I don't think so!!!!!!!!!

Toddler Foods - mmm, now I am hungry!!!!!

Recently someone asked what I feed the kids so I thought I would do a post about it so I can remember...

For breakfast we give them fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, cheese, a hard boiled egg, banana, bagel with cream cheese, toast with jelly, cherrios. I have tried french toast and pancakes and they are just not that into it yet.

For lunch they usually have a bean and cheese burrito, egg salad sandwiches, peanut butter and jelly, quesadilla, or leftovers from the night before. Sometimes I will make them chicken noodle soup or beef raviolis. For so long I have been worried about them getting enough iron. Most times I will put the chicken or beans on their tray first and wait till they eat it until I put the other stuff. I refrain from giving them processed lunch meats and hot dogs as often as possible. Everything in moderation though and if we are at a party and they are serving hot dogs well, then thats what they eat! :)

For snacks we do the graduates oatmeal bars, ritz crackers, graham crackers, cheese, yogurt, puffs, popcorn, vanilla wafers, FRUIT, hummus for dip, cookies, etc.

For drinks, other than milk, I mostly give apple juice with added water, plain water, and sometimes I make them hot chocolate if its cold outside. When we are on the run I give capri-suns which they love bec it is has a straw!

For dinners they eat what we eat. I refuse to make different meals. They love pasta so we do spaghetti, lasagne, and fettichine alfredo, enchiladas, chicken & rice casserole, cheeseburgers, they LOVE macaroni & cheese... we do lots of chicken and green beans - their fav! We just recently switched from regular hamburger meat to turkey burger. They love plain ole pinto beans too so once a week I make a pot of those for them to eat all week for iron/protein. I try to feed them relatively healthy and at home vs eating mcdonalds! I also serve them brown rice, wheat tortillas, and wheat bread. I buy the mickey mouse chicken nuggets from costco - they are supposed to be healthier. I give them ranch or ketchup to dip them in. they love to dip stuff. Keeping in mind I still cut things up to make everything kid friendly. I often ask friends what they feed their kids bec I run out of ideas but I try to be creative and have them try new things all the time to learn their likes and dislikes. Its hard when they dont like something but I have heard it takes a few times for things to adjust with their pallate. If anyone has any ideas please shoot them my way! I do realize how lucky I am to be able to be home with them and take the time to make homemade foods and really be in control of what they are eating and I do know that once they are in school that will prob change but for now I am trying to make sure my babies get the best nutrition possible. :)

If they had their way, they would eat cheese, green beans, cookies, chocolate, and strawberries all day long!

Happy 22nd Month Birthday Sophia & Noah...

Gosh lovebugs, you are growing too fast. You are gonna be 2 in 2 more months!!!!

You two are so smart. I often am amazed at the things you say and do. Like today Sophia you were watching cartoons and said "oh, not the babies crying Noah!" I love how if I give you a cracker you will ask for one for Noah and take it to him. Noah your favorite word lately is "strawberry" - which sounds more like "debbie" but I love it when you talk. Your vocabulary has expanded so much!!!! I love understanding what you are saying. You love to sing songs and its really cute when you dance. Recently we have all been singing "ring around the rosie" and Noah you love to drop down before I even get to that part. (sophia gets so mad at you!) LOL I love when you both grab my hand and lead me to where you want me to go. or when you grab me and hug me and say "Hug!" so cute.

The other night Sophia I put you both to bed and heard you say to Noah, "night night Noah - I lub yu" - it melted my heart. Your bond is getting stronger and stronger and I am so blessed to have you both and so blessed you have each other. Sophia you are like Noahs 2nd mommy sometimes and I know you will always take care of him as he will always take care of you. That is the greatest gift life can offer.

You both have been fighting naps lately - I think you are trying to not take them anymore which IS NOT going to happen so get over it! lol.

You are eating really well AND ALL THE TIME! I swear sometimes I feel like a chef. we have lots of poopy diapers lately too. I think you are going through a growth spurt.

Lately you both are getting really good at recognizing faces and saying names. I am showing you pictures to help you recognize people.

You both love books, baths, balloons, and brushing your teeth. OH and lets not forget cheetos and chocolate which you don't get often! ;0)

Your 2nd Easter!

Gosh lovebugs, you are growing too fast. You are gonna be 2 in 2 more months!!!!

My superhero!

I am so busy with you both that I dont blog as often as I would like to. But my goal is to blog at least bi-weekly or once a month to give an update on whats going on in your world.

I hope that time slows down a bit. I am already planning your big birthday bash which will be so much funner than last year because I think you will be able to partake in the activities.

Mommy and daddy love you both so much. I couldn't ask for better babes. You sometimes get a lil crazy but thats when I know you are tired and ready for night-night! I love our days and nights together. I am having the time of my life with you both and will cherish these memories for the rest of my life. The thought of leaving you two one day makes me so sad...however, that day will come until then lets make the best of every day and have the most fun we can!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxo

Everything I Need to Know...

I Learned in Kindergarten~

Most of what I really need to know about how to live and what to do, and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at nursery school.

These are the things I learned:

Share everything.

Play fair.

Don't hit people.

Put things back where you found them.

Clean up your own mess.

Don't take things that aren't yours.

Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody.

Wash your hands before you eat.

Flush.

Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.

Live a balanced life.

Learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

Take a nap every afternoon.

When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together.

Be aware of wonder.

Remember the little seed in the plastic cup? The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that. Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup -- they all die. So do we.

And then remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word you learned, the biggest word of all: look.

Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and sane living.

Think what a better world it would be if we all -- the whole world -- had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in our nation and other nations to always put things back where we found them and cleaned up our own messes. And it is still true, no matter how old you are, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together.

Happy 20 Month Birthday Sophia & Noah!

Here we are again, another month has slipped by in a blink of an eye. I dont have as much time these days to post but because TESSA sends me hate mail unless I do... so here goes! :) The babies are so active and into everything ...their busy all day except during their naps from 11:30-1:30pm. Sophia has become my picky eater. Noah is pretty easy going and Sophia is high maintenance. They are both loving taking baths, new shoes, balloons, suckers, slides, and brushing their teeth. They are sleeping really good these days... I have adjusted their bedtime to 7:30pm which works out great bec they wake up around 7:30am... right when I am ready for my day to start too! :) They love having each other to play with and be with all the time... they love getting into everything and being double trouble, especially when I am on the phone! They both are starting to outgrow their size 5 shoes and mamma is already planning their 2nd birthday bash! :)

Noah-ism's...

"ma-ma Oh NO!" - when he is telling on himself or sophia!
"sissy"
"da-da"
"an-du"
"Ba-ba"
"bob" for spongebob
"go" go diego go
"backpack"
"map"
"bye-bye" waves
"bash" for bath
"NO!"

well, Noah is not quite as chatty as Sophia but they do say boys are a bit behind girls so I am waiting for him to catch up. He says a lot of words just not alot of sentences. He has some other things he does that are hilarious tho. :) He loves to walk around with the stroller and put a baby in it. he is not gentle at all and bangs in to everything but its really sweet. He loves giving kisses and loves to hold my hand. Noah has a bad boy side but it doesn't come out very often. Only when he gets tired. He is so adventurous and will go up and down a slide without any help at all. he runs full speed ahead! Noah is my lil handsome boy with a big heart.

here is noah with his new purse! (what? Mommy got Sophia one and he had to get one too!)

Full speed ahead - watch out ya'all!
No fear!
Cool guy - loves his new glasses and loves to pull his pants up like this:
posing for the camera!
SOPHIA-ISM's

"Noah dit it"
"I two" as she holds up two fingers
"OH NO!!!!!!!!! Wheres Noah?" (when she wakes up and noah isn't in his crib!)
"Come here Noah!"
"NO NOAH!"
Grabs my hand "come here I show you!"
"Ma-ma, ba-ba... wheres Noahs ba-ba?"
"Ma-ma, I lud yu"
"I dont wut to"
"Ma-ma, Ma-ma, Ma-ma, Ma-ma!!!!!!!!!!" AHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
"ma-ma, a, bish, c, g, fsh," supposed to be the ABC's!
"dat beesh" = "the beach" of course!!!!
"bye bye Da-da"

Whats your brothers name? "Andu"
"mime" - she learned that from a lil boy yesterday at the park!

She is talking so much now. Everything is Noah this and Noah that... sometimes thats the only word I understand in all her sentences. She is his lil mamma. I have to remind her that I AM MOMMY but I do thank her for being mommys lil helper.

ok, I admit, she has become quite bossy and def has an additude but this lil girl melts my heart! :) She is becoming a lil girl and no longer my infant baby I am realizing. It sucks! Yesterday when we left the park and she didnt want to go she stood with her arms folded and turned away from me with her head down. She wasnt crying but she was def upset. Andrew and I just looked at each other bec we know we are in for it!

We are starting swimming lessons next week and can't wait. Fun, Fun, Fun!!!
